I am reviewing Amy and the event planning part of the store, Matrimony Made Easy.
I don’t know how I found Amy but THANK GOD I did! My wedding would not have been the same without her and her staff at Matrimony Made Easy. They were truly incredible. Amy has this amazing ability to stay calm and really pay attention to the details that matter. She took care of almost everything for my wedding from catering to rentals, and all of her prices were really reasonable if not better than any other vendor I quoted. In addition, she helped with the overall planning of the event and the set-up /tear-down. She is knowledgeable, helpful and very easy to work with. And as an added bonus, she is incredibly reasonable. Trust me, for the quality of the work she does you will not regret hiring her. In fact, when I did the math I found that she ended up SAVING ME more money than her fee cost because she gets discounts and knows some great cost saving tricks. Also, she is not one of those planners that is going to push you into spending a ton of money, she is really big on making sure you stay in budget and still get the special day you are hoping for. I really cannot say enough about Amy and her team, but I’ll let her work speak for itself. My cousin got married a few weeks after me, and after seeing Amy’s work at my wedding she hired Amy basically on the spot. Amy did a great job at her wedding also just weeks later :) Truly a great planner!!!

My review is for the event planning part of the store, Matrimony Made Easy. Like most brides I wanted a nice wedding on a budget in Austin and that can be tough.
Amy and I met a few times at the store to discuss all parts of the wedding and we used store items to brainstorm decorations. Amy had a great checklist of things to make sure all bases were covered, many things I had to idea about. Then I moved to San Antonio, so having Amy to help me plan a wedding an hour away was so helpful and took a lot of pressure off of me and my family. She arranged the DJ, photographer, the caterer, and the cake with her team of vendors. It was great showing up to my wedding last week with everything handled and decorations placed. Even with muddy ground, she worked the venue to make things work.

I had nothing but good times at Once Upon A Bride.
Originally, I came by with my mom and fiancée to check out some centerpiece things. We were so lucky to buy a ton of little vases for so cheap, and enough for 16 tables to match! They have mostly decorations here, and sometimes it’s cool that someone has already customized something for a wedding. It’s stuff from someone’s real wedding, so the work is already done!
I was actually disappointed that I hadn’t checked this place out for dresses. They have a pretty decent selection of bridal, bridesmaid, mother of the bride, and flower girl dresses. Not a ton like a bridal shop, considering the store is pretty small, but worth a look if you are on a budget!
After getting married (awwwwww) my husband and I came back with a lot of the stuff we bought from them and even more stuff from our house that we thought they might buy. We got a fair price, considering this stuff was probably going to goodwill if they said no.
It is totally a small store, so it’s possible you won’t find anything, but I think it’s worth checking out if you are getting married!

Went to this place because it was close to my house, to rent chairs and linens for my wedding. Was unsure of how many linens I was going to need, and so pre-paid for 15. The lady behind the counter told me to call back and let her know how many I needed and she would refund the ones I did not need. Well as it turns out, I actually did not need the linens at all. So I went in and asked if I could please get a refund on the linens. I was told (by the same lady as before) that their manager was not in and they would have her call me. Fast forward almost a week later, and I get a call saying that I will not be receiving any refund whatsoever, as they have already paid their vendors.
Pretty disappointed in the deplorable service that has been presented by this store. 0 Stars is a much more accurate assessment, as they now have my money and the product I will not be using. Definitely stay away from these theives.

My sister purchased overlays from here for her wedding. She was told they were cleaned and pressed but to our surprise, they had food and stains and 2 were torn, even though they were bagged up nicely. Make sure you check anything you purchase. Luckily, we bought extra so we had enough to cover the tables.

These ladies rock! They found a great dress for my music festival wedding. The compliments on the dress never stopped. It was a great price and I couldn’t have designed a better dress.

Hired their staff to decorate my wedding and was very happy with the level of service they provided. They are very detail oriented and made sure everything was perfect. Then when I was done, I took my items to them to buy. It was a very easy process and the staff was wonderful throughout the whole thing!

The owner of this business was hired to coordinate my son’s wedding… IT WAS A DISASTER!!! threw away the brides wedding bouquet, spilled the unity sand all over the floor, rushed the entire wedding event, kept items that the bride had bought without consent. other items, that the bride bought and asked to be returned, were found in storage with a price tag and this stores name on them. i highly recomme the nd owner you steer clear of any business with this establihment. you will regret it…

I came to sell my items and the blonde lady she offered me $ 150 for over $ 2,000 worth of stuff. This place is a rip off her mark up is over 100%. She was selling the same items she offered me .25 cents, for over $ 10. The worst is I had asked to give me an idea on how much she would give me based on the samples of the items I had show. Her. She made me carry in over 50 boxes to give me this sad excuse of an offer.
The blonde short hair lady is beyond rude and has no customer service skill. Didn’t smile once or say hello when I first walked in the door.
I stopped by big lots after and saw items that she was selling at her store for half the price.
Unless you are desperate and not aware of business or have no budget on your wedding go somewhere else.
I really don’t understand people who open up these stores but have no sense of customer service for repeat clients. It’s no wonder every time I have been there the place was dead.

This place is FABULOUS! Just bought my dress at the shop in June 2015. The ladies were super patient and helpful. I brought two of my bridesmaids to help me in and out of dresses. They were helpful, but also stepped back and let us take our time and have our experience together. They provided water and ferrying of dresses in and out of the back. I never once felt rushed and I tried on a TON of their dresses. I have always a thrifter and grew up with my mom and maid of honor hunting through garage sales and charity/consignment shops, so this was only natural for me to do the same for my wedding dress. It’s a perfect shop for a bride looking to save some money and find something very unique. LOVED my experience with Once Upon a Bride. Highly recommend!!!

Warning: Be Careful!!! I bought a lot of stuff here for my wedding, and while planning the wedding, I also brought them my first dress, which over $ 2,000 and was new with tags, to consign (It no longer fit). However, in the hustle and bustle of getting married, I lost the contract that indicated when I had to pick up the dress by— or else they would keep it and consider it a «donation to the store». Well, big surprise, I missed the 90 day deadline, and when I called around day 98 to ask about the dress, I was told it was no longer mine because on day 91, it became a donation to the store. I asked if there was any way to make an exception and let me take my dress, but the answer was no.
So ladies, if you are thinking about consigning here, just be very careful because they couldn’t care less about their customers. Never coming back here, and will warn everyone I know who is getting married.

So disclaimer, i am not a bride and came to this place because i saw some of their cool stuff on Craigslist.
Ok, so I LOVE that they have «used» stuff that people used once at their wedding and no longer wanted. Random things from crafty candle votives to chandeliers. To brass bowl things that looked Indian or Moroccan. I got 3 medal/purple candle holders, 3 mini jars to put in them, and a brass decorative bowl thingy for 15.00 bucks. The most expensive thing was $ 4.00. i mean honestly you would pay about $ 20.00+ alone for the brass thing.
I always deterred from this place because I have been married for seven years and so didn’t think to go into a bridal store. But no, if you want crafty things and beautiful decorations. check this place out. The ladies were very nice too and since their stock is forever rotating, you never know what they will have. Check their facebook page for updates :)

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME! I had such a horrible experience and I hope to save someone’s time with this review. First off, I Googled this page to find bridal resales in Austin; center pieces, decorations, dresses for mother of the bride, etc.
Not much to choose from, probably more reasonable for small weddings. I’m having about 150 people attend which will need decorations for 15 tables and there was not enough of one item here that would fit my needs. Also, most of the decorations looked liked used DIY projects. You can probably find the same products for cheaper at Goodwill or a garage sale.
The dress and shoe selection was very small.
And most importantly, absolutely no one that works here knows customer service. When we walked in, I couldn’t tell who worked here and who was a customer. No one said «hello, welcome» or «can I help y’all find something?»
Even upon check out, I think the only words the lady spoke to me was to tell me my total. I even looked at a handout right in front of her and instead of trying to offer to tell me more about the service being offered on the handout, she said nothing. Totally missing out on sales! I don’t know how you stay in business not offering your customers your products or services.
So if you’re looking for horrible customer service, second hand used stuff, with little variety, this might be your place! Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my bride friends.

First off, this store has some beautiful things at reasonable prices. Most of the products I saw were in great condition. I even found a flower girl basket here for $ 8 and it was PERFECT.
However, I came here once before on a Saturday and the doors were locked. The open sign was in the window and I waited, but no one came. I went home and wrote a Unilocal review not expecting to get a response, but I did. Someone messaged me apologizing and explaining the situation. I deleted the review and decided to give it another shot, having never made it inside the store.
An older employee with blonde or light brown hair glanced at me a few times and even made eye contact. She never once acknowledged me. She busied herself with a bride looking for a dress. Okay, fine.
I went to the counter to purchase a basket and the darker haired girl with glasses was much nicer. She started to swipe my card and her coworker, who still had said nothing to me, walked over and just watched her swipe my card. Watched her ring me up and yet this whole time she still just STOOD there looking at me saying NOTHING.
It’s a small thing, sure. But isn’t it a general rule of thumb to at least say HELLO to people who shop at your place of business? Or smile?
Thanks Once Upon a Bride for failing me twice now. There are lots of other consignment shops in the Austin area that I have visited and far exceeded my expectations.
