Technicality, I feel like the people who are still playing Activision's Blizzard titles are always in for a bad time. They only push metrics and not the fun kind of metrics either.

Not looking at you with crazy eyes, I've gotten so bored with D4 I went back to Diablo Immoral and I've played with the new class and I love it I'm actually having fun.

I do agree that games don't have to be fun because horror games exist. I don't find them fun per say but some are compelling and I force myself to finish them just to see what happens next.

I like your take on things. I'm going to interject and say it's been Blizz's game to lose, and they're just throwing it away. I've enjoyed all the WoW expansions, but I haven't wanted to stay subbed more than a few months since WotLK. (edit: actually, I will say this is the first time since then, only because I've been holding out for the official hardcore Classic servers. I was enjoying DF enough I didn't want to leave there to play the unofficial version when I first heard about it.) I've put a lot of hours in on D3, but in the same time period, I've spent at least 4-5x as much in PoE because there's always something new, something different. I want to come back every 3-4 months to check it out, whether I fall in love with the new mechanics and storyline or not.
I'm not sure whether to put Grinding Gear Games on the level of AAA developers, but they're beyond indie these days. I don't recall them discussing their budgets anywhere, but given the number of players, their development budget per year has to be 10 million USD or more (my random guess… I have nothing to infer things from).

poe 2 is just poe just like how overwatch 2 is overwatch. pretty much a clone

PoE2 is more than a year away. I expect Blizzard to launch new DLC, have massive sales and do a new season a week or two before it PoE2 launches which is really only going to hurt PoE2 if they do that along with any changes they make over the next entire year being any good. I'll be playing PoE2 the day it launches just like I did when the original version launched but there are millions of people out there who can easily be "bought" with the right incentives.

Naaah this is just de javu on what happened during D3 🤣

Season 1 was developed parallel to the main game, so it could never have been the best experience ever. Doesn't matter, many people bought the game inncluding the seasons battle pass, so Blizzard got the money. People may be complaining, leaving, burning out, … but as long as the come back end of October and pay for the next battle pass, everything is fine from the devs perspective. Good for PoE to get some attention now, and best of luck for their second entry, but it is more healthy competition than threat to D4,

I've been play PoE for a decade(its that old already) and still enjoy most of it couse its always expanding and inproving itself, PoE 2 was originally slated to be a massive upgrade with a new campaign but apperantly it became to big(not always a bad thing) so they decided to make it a separate game entirely, while at the same time get to keep your microtransaction skins for use in both games.
I really respect u are careful when it comes to microtransaction games, couse these days u have to be, though unlike Diablo Immortal wich is like the worst of the worst PoE is the safest in that regard i have ever known since they always make sure it does not affect gameplay, aside from the stash tabs.
I've even read a story years ago of a guy with a gambling addiction who was recovering from it and was playing PoE but did't wanted to be tempted by their Mystery boxes(loot boxes) to have a fallback so he e-mailed them if they could help and within a day they locked his microtransaction shop so he would't get tempted and could enjoy the game.
What company would do that for a player? Not Blizzard thats for sure.Regardless, i hope u enjoy both games, i myself can't wait for the beta next year(u can play the entire game in it btw) couse its gonna be great!

The great thing about PoE being a free-to-play game is that they've nailed the free-to-play monitization.
As a new player you get to play through the whole story and even the endgame untill you feel invested enough in the game that you can justify spending money on it

If Diablo 3 is anything to go by Diablo 4 is already on it's deathbed like at this stage sure their first expansion will be underway by virtue of releasing in the first place but the fate of it's 2nd expansion would be something that would be decided just around now will it be a full fledged expansion or just a one class dlc like what happened to D3 expansion 2.
Here's to hoping it's not the case and blizzard changed since Diablo 3, we all want another good game on the market after all but temper expectations.

Blizzard is just a shadow of its former self.
All the main devs that made the history of the company have gone.Reply
you can buy a really cool supporter pack its between 30 – 60 – 90 euro and more you dont need and you can say you bought the game sort of
